What better way to introduce Scrollino® in Germany than at a bi-annual international comic festival like Erlangen?
For Scrollino’s our first foray into Germany, we were invited to the International Comic Salon Erlangen, a festival that only happens every two years. And what a festival it was! It took over the entire historic city center of Erlangen, with tents erected in large squares and even in the Schlossgarten, where we were located in a spacious tent with other editors, artists and creators.
And the gardens around us were filled with beautiful greenery and flowers, an impressive fountain, and the colorful splashes of art installations. This year’s theme involved Mickey Mouse and friends over the years and across countries, as diverse as the exhibitors and attendees present at the festival.

The 18th Erlangen International Comic Salon, located right in the heart of the city, started on the last day of May and we were lucky to enjoy the sunny days. The Comic Fair showcased more than 150 exhibitors – publishers, artists, agencies and comic dealers and hosted comic and illustration classes from universities as well as art collectives and solo artists.

We had a lot of fun revealing our own colorful story to attendees and fellow artists, not only at our table, but also by having special moments together when visiting each other’s tables. Or getting out into the gardens to recline in the bright orange chairs scattered around the park or enjoying a big scoop of traditionally-made ice cream – just the thing to keep Scrollino rolling all weekend long!
